Wow. Accompanying an elder is not for the faint of heart. I am in TN visiting my soon-to-be 97 year old aunt who’s sharp as a tack but a bit wobbly on her feet. May your father get back to you in one piece. ❤️
My Mom passed away on April 1, just two months and two days short of her 100th birthday. She was amazingly sharp to the end. Still, the inevitable cognitive decline catches up with all of us despite our best efforts to elude it, be it through exercise, diet, meditation or whatever means we try to conjure. Your heartfelt writing is a wonderful way to express gratitude for the time we have with elderly parents and reminds us to be grateful for every day, every moment.
Thanks Joshua! Actually had started that several different ways, none of them working. But the Percy advice prompted starting with a scene.
